Cannibal Cookies and a New Baby

This past week, my friend had her third baby.  He is a dream.
Meet Landon:
Landon-and I at the hospital.

Here he is making a little face for the camera.

Here is big sister, Lydia.  Yes, she is a doll!

And big brother, Logan.  :)  He did NOT want his picture taken.  Probably because he is so handsome.

Before my visit, I made some cookies for the family.  Mascarpone Oreo Snowflake Cookies- made from this recipe here by Kevin and Amanda.  They turned out super yummy.  When I posted that I was bring cookies with Oreos inside, Mr. Dad joked around that I was bringing "cannibal cookies."  Get it?  Cookies in a cookie? ;)  Anyhow, they are divine and such a big hit.  The parents and older brother and sister loved them.  Do you have a new recipe that you love?  Share it! :)

It's been a great weekend spending time with friends and getting some snuggle time with the new baby.

Custom Valentine's Day gift for my sweetie!

I'm SO excited to share with you the gift that I'm giving Michael for Valentine's Day.  (He never reads my blog, so I'm safe here!)

Is this not just gorgeous!?! (in a totally masculine way of course!)  This sterling silver guitar pick is hand-stamped and attached to a leather necklace.
I ordered it from an Etsy shop- LoreleiRose.  She does great work and I love her prices and customer service.  Also, usually these hand-stamped jewlery shops take forever to make and send you your item, but this came VERY quickly. :)  Tell her I sent you!

New Year's Resolution- Learn to Crochet

This year for my New Year's Resolution I decided that I wanted to learn to crochet.  I first explored the art of crochet when I was in middle school, but I never really enjoyed it or got the hang of it.

Thanks to my beautiful and intelligent sister-in-law, Jemima, I have learned once again.  She is an excellent teacher.  Here are some of the new things I've crocheted.

Prayer Shawl
For the prayer shawl I used a pattern from RAKJ Patterns:
Here is their shop.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/RAKJpatterns

Shell Hat
For this shell hat I used a tutorial found on youtube:

Cowl

I bought the pattern for this cowl here from Long Beach Designs.

I'm currently working on fingerless mittens.  I've completed one, but haven't started the other yet.  On another note, I had 4 snow days from school!  It was amazing!  Here is a picture of Walker in the snow.
